IOE Brings Business Voice to G7 Labour Ministerial

The IOE Secretary-General delivers key insights on the impact of digitalisation in the workplace and skills challenges in labour markets at today’s G7 Labour and Employment Ministers' meeting in Italy.

The International Organisation of Employers (IOE), as part of its ongoing engagement with G7 Labour and Employment Ministers, is participating in the latest session taking place in Cagliari, Italy, from 11-13 September.

The IOE Secretary-General is actively contributing to various panels and delivering keynote speeches on critical issues, including the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the world of work, the challenges posed by an ageing workforce, pursuing a just transition and the importance of upskilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning policies to adapt to changing labour market needs.

In addition to these discussions, IOE, as a leader of Business 7 (B7), has joined forces with trade unions under Labour 7 (L7) to release a joint statement. This collaborative effort advocates for the responsible and ethical development of AI, ensuring that both business and labour interests are represented. IOE's involvement underscores its advocacy mandate to foster sustainable enterprises and promote social dialogue.
