Join a Middle East regional workshop on migration governance

Invitation to participate in an online dialogue on migration between employers and governments in Middle East on July 6 and 8, 2021

Employers members of IOE are cordially invited to join the regional online workshop on July 6, and dialogue with governments on July 8^th of 6 GCC countries*.

The proposed theme for the dialogue is “Business Perspectives on Mobility: Learning from the Now to Shape the Future. Focus Middle East.” The objectives are to highlight best practices of immigration frameworks that are conducive to filling skills gaps, while also addressing challenges faced by employers when accessing foreign skills. Business priorities related to skills mobility, and skills development are at the core of the GCM objectives 5 and 18. The outcome of the dialogue will feed into the GCM global review, as well as GFMD discussions, and should support your government in the implementation of the GCM, which calls for greater collaboration with the private sector.

For any dialogue to be effective, it is imperative to have the interested parties present at the table. Please consult the concept note and draft agenda enclosed in this email. Final program will be shared closer to the date.
