La OIE se complace en compartir el informe de la 7.ª Cumbre de interlocutores sociales africanos, celebrada los días 7 y 8 de febrero de 2024 en Dar es Salaam, Tanzanía (en inglés).

The Summit, co-organised by the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) with the support of the European Union and Business Africa, brought together over 300 participants from 37 countries. The event focused on critical issues such as job creation, tackling informality, access to finance, and the future of work in Africa, with a particular emphasis on digitalisation, automation, AI, and skills development.

Key highlights from the report include: 

  • Panel Discussions: In-depth sessions on the power of social dialogue, challenges and opportunities for job creation, informality and unemployment, access to finance, and the future of work. 

  • Regional Discussions: Detailed reviews and recommendations on advancements for job creation, with specific focus on different subregions including North Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, West and Central Africa (Francophone), and West Africa (Anglophone). 

  • Tunis Action Plan: Updates and strategic recommendations to enhance job creation strategies, focusing on economic growth, youth empowerment, gender equality, and innovation.
